The Atlas Programme
Free therapeutic support for anyone currently or previously supported by RSMS.
The Atlas Programme offers confidential, voluntary therapeutic support for people who are part of, or have previously been part of, an RSMS service. It provides a safe space to talk, reflect, and work through challenges that may be affecting wellbeing, relationships, or day-to-day life.
You do not need to be in crisis to access Atlas. The programme is there to support emotional wellbeing, build resilience, and help you make sense of what you are carrying.
What the Atlas Programme Offers
Atlas provides short-term therapeutic support focused on:
-
Emotional wellbeing and self-understanding
-
Managing stress, anxiety, anger, or overwhelm
-
Reflecting on patterns of behaviour and relationships
-
Strengthening coping strategies and confidence
-
Supporting positive change alongside other RSMS interventions
The support is voluntary, confidential, and designed to work alongside any current RSMS programme you may be engaged in.
How the Support Is Delivered
-
Sessions are delivered by trainee therapists from York St John University, completing their professional placements.
-
All therapists are appropriately trained, DBS checked, and work within clear ethical and professional boundaries.
-
Clinical oversight is provided by a registered Clinical Psychologist, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and reflective practice.
-
RSMS provides governance and oversight to ensure the service aligns with safeguarding and organisational standards.
Who Can Access the Atlas Programme?
The Atlas Programme is available to:
-
Anyone currently accessing an RSMS service
-
Anyone who has previously been supported by RSMS
Participation is entirely voluntary and will not affect your involvement in any other RSMS programme.
Our Approach
Atlas is grounded in trauma-informed and relational practice. We recognise that people often carry experiences that affect how they think, feel, and respond to the world. The programme offers a calm, respectful space to explore these experiences at your own pace.
