What is the Sexual Orientation Hub?

This programme provides an online structured programme to support individual employees to:

  • Develop their knowledge on the topic of Sexual Orientation
  • Increase their understanding of how discrimination and harassment in the workplace on the grounds of Sexual Orientation can impact individuals
  • Learn from workplace case studies to explore different scenarios relating to Sexual Orientation.

What makes this intervention premium?

This programme offers subscribing organisations:

  • CBT and Strength based learning
  • Complete customisation including: logos, colours and fonts.
  • Live time management reporting regarding referrals and completions.

How does it work?

Our programmes have been carefully designed to cater for all learning styles. We achieved this by including into our programmes:

  • Audio bars for those with reading difficulties
  • Visual content such as videos and diagrams
  • Written instructions
  • Case examples
  • Reflective practice

What topics does it cover?

Our Sexual Orientation programme covers:

  • Information about the Equality Act 2010
  • An explanation of key terms relating to Sexual Orientation
  • Discussion on the extent of discrimination experienced by the LGBTQ+ community (in and out of the workplace)
  • Stereotypes and bias within society relating to Sexual Orientation
  • Direct and indirect discrimination
  • Disadvantage and intersectionality
  • Knowledge checker quiz

Does the Sexual Orientation Hub offer any more support?

In addition to a structured programme outlined above, users can also access 24 hours a day email support service

How effective are the programmes?

RSMS have tested CCBT based approaches with over 40,000 individuals in England and the Isle of Man.  To date our average results have been:

  • 71% showed a positive change in pre and post questionnaire scoring (measuring change in knowledge and understanding)
  • 78% of users would recommend it
  • 73% of users report that they found it useful.

What happens when you finish the programme?

When the user finishes the programme, a post programme report measuring any changes is sent to the email address that has been provided.  This will also include all the information input into the programme
